The Wolf, Coyote and Mother Earth

The Wolf, Coyote and Mother Earth

A Chapter by Wolfwind

A foot comes down

And another onto the ground

A breeze embraced the dust

A meaning for it? Surely.

A line of mountains off in the distance

A road that leads from somewhere to someplace

Another dotted line

Another thought born? Surely.

Leaves wave upon an gnarled tree

Hands gently touch its ancient bark

The land whispers hello

A message given? Surely.

A valley gives rest to curving pavement

Sweeping turns, with hands upon wheel

No cars. No trucks. Just a hawk soaring

A message heard? Surely.

Feet continue their soft steps

Wheels continue to take the mile

Eyes come upon machine and man

A message exchanged? Surely.

Motion and movement are held in time

Thoughts share an understanding sublime

Carry on lone Wolf drifts a voice

Carry on young Coyote a voice drifts

Time returns

Foot steps fall again

Wheels grip and pull

The breeze drifts on.

Twin smiles arise akin to the moon

For the Mother of the Earth had come

Granting the wisdom of life’s essence

For two who shared her presence.
