The Solitary SeasonA Poem by WolfwindThoughts drift along highways of some other time Questions of actions course and self doubt seem to swim Emotional ripples radiate outward only to reflect inward Ever aware of the loneliness that laughs like a vice in the heart
It’s like a bad 90’s movie script Rags to riches, then to nothing at all and the scene ends The good guys finish last The bad guys get free rides to glory The days end under the cover of rain clouds Only dripping salted droplets Stinging the wounds of being left on the side of the road Even God seems to mock the heart Leaving the spirit to hang by a string Dangling in the winds of what ifs, how and why A troubled and torn existence indeed
Perhaps that’s just life The hands dealt were destined to be lost The body to fall upon broken knees The head to kiss the dirt a moment later Pondering only How one could become such a failure Finding rock bottom Wondering simply A defining moment Giving up was never an option © 2012 WolfwindReviews
