Desert Night

Desert Night

A Poem by Wolfwind

Desert Night

Stars sparkling Bright

A Wolf howls out of Sight

A Coyote Cries

Under a Desert Sky

Two Souls tied, the Wish to Fly

 Unto the Heavens High

These Two, they Cry

Their voices echoing across canyons wide

Their bond, so different, so new, a need to collide

Their paths crossing, looping, reconnecting

Within their whispers they confide

Of Love that does not Die

Confusion, Patience, The winds that Blow

The Desert Sage and Sand, must already Know

Both above and Below

Their feet that Walk upon this Flow

A Kiss from the Heavens, must Show

Upon the Desert Rivers

They were meant to Row

The wolf and coyote symbolism are an amazing thought. Female and male coming together, but different. They could exist together but would have conflicts and a rocky relationship. (I realize that the actual animals can't but you get where I'm coming from here I'm sure) The souls call to eachother, one first, "Hey dear". The second answers, "Hey" in return. But their roads travel different paths of highway, hills, valleys, and streams. Different ways to survive, but not. (I hope I got this in the vicinity of what you wrote. When I'm unfocused I tend to confuse things some, sorry) I really enjoyed this piece and how you put it together. :)

This has a really interesting structure and I like your way of playing with the words and what's capitalized and what is not. It's really very striking. I enjoyed reading this!
