The Dream's FrightenedA Poem by WolfwindSteps trending down, creaking and groaning The weight of a thousand thoughts upon the mind Fears, hopes, joys and happiness a cacophony of birds and singing Their tunes and tones a myriad of emotions swirling Hanging on, hang on. The banister worn, it dusty finger prints memories Of times chaotic passing gate Accepting, acceptance, others fears upon beyond neglected reasoning Heart, hurting, holding on, trying, testing, must try, do or die inside Thoughts, thinking, mind a fiery flux Confusion, uncertainty taken, understood and engraved upon every fiber Weak, strong, knees buckling, moving forward, opposing and engrossing Down upon the bottom floor, board squeaking their protest Prayers, praying, pray to any and all. Lord, give the light and give the heart and strength to coalesce reason So far away, Oh so far, wishing, hoping and praying What’s best, what’s right, left, up and down, visions solid and transparent Never give up, don’t give up the light. Precious shine upon sad eyes, scared eyes glistening Fearing, no fear, mustn’t give up, to far in now, now is reality Wishing, hoping and praying for a fix, repair, tape upon torn sheets Will there ever be peace? Where’s the answer? What’s the light that needs to shine brightest? To understand what’s inside… © 2012 WolfwindFeatured Review
