That great chillA Poem by WolfwindIt had been a moment Oh so sweet of a time to drink A heightened feeling cascading over the soul Like a waterfalls healing rain That place was home. Long ago, in times foot prints So close, yet far away Ghost like memories swirling and drifting Within the foggy valleys Northern chill Entombed by those trees, tall and wide. The echoes of distant howls Resonating across mountain tops Sinking within the damp fallen grounds Thoughts of a journey linger.
So different, new and beautiful Warmed with the spirit of summer sun Ever radiating a healing gift Across a timeless expanse That place was home. Many steps upon those ancient sands Bringing time to be a priceless jewel, a blessing Now vanished on whim of a sudden storm Wandering, roaming, to somewhere not known. Slow steps, heavy fur, dampness permeates Wondering, roving, eyes upon shadowy shapes Echoes fading in the wind, silence to grip A lone wolf’s howl.
