Distance in the WindA Poem by WolfwindFor every word written There are two that never crease the page Thoughts held close to heart Fighting away the cage
The world keeps on spinning Time a forceful blade I wish I could freeze it once Enter the water and wade
Everything is running away Like the water deep below I’m trying to survive Sometimes I don’t know
I place myself upon the rim Of a canyon deep and wide Gazing out into a dream I knew Tears not even dried
My urge is to wander Further and far away Lose myself in the wastelands Yet…I can’t help but stay
I know the dream is out there Walking against the wind I do not know God’s outcome But if I leave, I’ve sinned
I pray to remain stable To be a strength for this dream One that I know was real While wandering an ole’ dry stream
