Where the River flows

Where the River flows

A Poem by Wolfwind

Where the river flows

Drifting and turning it will go

To a place you don’t know.

The body far to close in

Buried in the caskets of yesterdays fires

Eyes fog with backward desire.

Dance the dance

Be prepared to dodge

It is fury you take in.

Where the canyon kisses cool waters

You’ve touched and reached too climb

Yet the depths are still shallow.

Far beneath the walks of feet

Awareness feels molten rock

This place you have not reached;

True life

The living element of spark

Given to strong mountains rising tall.

Fragile is the foundation being laid

Toes blinded in the false dominion above.

Smooth and placid water conjuring reflections

Contortions within the endless ripples created

Hiding the dangers of the Asp.

Will you see the moonstones below the curve of time?

Luna’s light shines to them from above.

If not… the Asp shall bite

Constricting all that is valued

Within the broken soul.
