Desert Rain

Desert Rain

A Poem by Wolfwind
"

The beauty of life comes in many forms

"

Shhhh….can you hear?

Falling soft it does

Ever gentle upon the sweet loving grains

Every drop, each little gem of life, blossoming into colors

Red, pink, gold and a myriad of hues

Shouting…whispering their joy

 Of that powerful creation

The bringer of new life and new sways

That liquid life of new beginning

Rebirth upon the desert sands

They say…some believe

It’s the eyes of the ancients glistening in the blue

Crying for fresh diamonds to fall

Never straight… from dark to light

An amazement and wonder

A blessing

As rainbows embrace the parched-scape

Yet some still muse

Its miracle is a gift of another sort

A song of precious joy that captures our souls

That rumbles and falls upon our hair

Kissing our lips damp

Perhaps both are true

I’ll leave that choice up to you

But remember this…

When the Thunder rumbles

When the Lightning crackles

And the torrents stampede

Those that know

Those the care

Those who make their home upon the sands…

They gaze aloft and give thanks

For the life giving Desert Rain

This poem gives me goosebumps. I love that it's specifically DESERT rain. I'm from the desert, and whenever it rains, it feels like a miracle. Just like you described. I love how you mentioned "the eyes of the ancients", giving it a spiritual nature. It also seems to teach a lesson at the end. It's those who live with less rain that appreciate it the most. You are very talented.

This was really great. I loved everything the rain personified and how it brought life. It brought a whole new idea to the rain ad showed what all it does. My favorite part was this:
"It’s the eyes of the ancients glistening in the blue
Crying for fresh diamonds to falls"
