Earthen Love

Earthen Love

A Poem by Wolfwind

Ever wonder the dreams of the whisperers

Voices caressed by nocturnal starlight

Invisible till one closes their eyes?

Ever ponder the mists of the evening dews

Crafted by the hands and feet of dreamers

Only touched upon a midnight morning?

Ever see the rays of lost rainbows

Forever present in the faintest heart beat

The kind that only blooms when kissed?

Ever hold the jewel of a blessed moment

Long in its day, yet slow in its night

Never known but to those who sigh?

Have you known those sacred tears

That drip like rivers but are never seen

Only tasted by those who can trust?

Have you known the embrace of a hue

Subtle like a breeze upon and eyes journey

Ever present in a minds repast?

The world says you do

For you all have lived

Walking upon the Earth loam

Upon which you call home

"Have you known those sacred tears
That drip like rivers but are never seen
Only tasted by those who can trust?"
This and the last stanza really stand out. What an image, all of it! And the questions in each stanza up until the conclusion really make my mind wander to the origins of love and how it is a universal experience that is grounded in the earth--reinforced by the wonderful imagery throughout. Lovely and very nicely done. :)
