Splinters or a BeamA Poem by WolfwindSpeak ye not of shattered thoughts Or idle minds and mismatched emotions Sayth upon a mirror’s tears Once were roots upon thy tree To hold those aging branches real Drip not of pieces Broken, fractured and torn Trickle not of shards incomplete They grant no solace Where an Old Oak might have shouted resonance If past poses form in sad retrospection Pray not of cries weaving forlorn despair Nor thy venting of rages sweet angst Deeply thought projections claim a stronger knot Over ideas that swim but a lonely lap Hail now to the stump, though old Yields it's circles of reason and truth Of history and the rounds of a world at large Know thy base to know thy tree Blossoming wisdom erupts forth Only upon those ageless fruits Born among leaves of long stretched care Do shine brightly into the strength of thy board A strong and sturdy log Guides others to fully understand How can one truly know thy wine If one knows not the barrel it was fermented within? © 2013 WolfwindReviews
