Just a thought

Upon a surface

Inside a sphere

Along a road

A path or living in an abode

People, the we, the who and the everybody’s

Gather demons upon our shoulders

With every step we make

Shiver, shiver, shudder and shake

 

In our lives

On our minds

Through our eyes

Realization, rational thought, a truth to be found

Those who exist and are alive and have a breath within

Should never run, flee or take to the hills

Especially when our demons are free and on the loose

Having their devastating thrills, as we go to the noose

 

Instead

A thought

A way to be clear in the mind

Face those demons, do not delay

Put them to the grindstone and banish them away

For the more time you take

The more of one’s sanity flies in the wind

And emotions and life are put to the stake

The whole image of literally having demons on my shoulders really creeps me out. In the day to day though, I can see how everyone figuratively carries these little dark parts around. I'm guilty of having to "banish" a few of my own now and then when my temper flares or when I have road rage... :) Very wise words here. Good thoughts to pass along!
