Dr. Mathmodicus and the Internal Conflict - Part 2A Chapter by WolfwindWith Jenn unconscious, Ifer has to make some fast decisions when Jenn is taken.“Wake up!” Ifer was now shouting at Jenn. She turned at the crunching of leaves to see Dr. Mathmodicus come to a stop a few feet way from where Jenn was sleeping. “It seems, even though you defeated my minion, you yourself have been having some issues. Hmmm… How might I turn this to my benefit?” Ifer shuddered as the Dr’s words were cold and cruel. “No!” She shouted as the doctor bent down and easily hefted the unconscious girl over her shoulder and turned, beginning his walk back to the school building. “Come on Jenn! Wake up!” Ifer pleaded as she drifted along behind the doctor. “You know I can’t use the stupendous and fantastic powers without us being conjoined. You need to wake up!” Tears streamed down Ifer’s face as she felt more and more dread building inside her. The doctor, once inside the building, turned and carried the teenager down to the older section of the school, opened a door that read “DANGER” on it in red ink, and entered, locking it behind him. A low chuckle came from him as he laid the girl down on a large metal table, “I think it’s time I found out just how you tick Ms. Duality.” The large man systematically went around the table, securing Jenn to the table with heavy duty straps. Ifer was helpless but to just stand next to the table and watch as her other half lay there. She knew that if she tried to forcefully combine with her again without Jenn being awake, Jennifer would be so weak that she wouldn’t be able to get free. Ifer was really worried now, not just for her other half’s safety and what Mathmodicus might do, but to why she hadn’t come too yet. The doctor had turned away for a moment and then returned with some sort of a device. “This will only hurt a little,” He laughed, “Not that you’re going to notice it in your condition.” Ifer’s eyes widened when she saw the device, “Oh no! It’s an Epictastical Power Delinator! I have to do something!” Seeing a small mirror laying on another table, the girl in white slipped it quietly behind her back, so the doctor wouldn’t be able to see it and then bravely stepped between him and where Jenn lay. “Okay now, what do we have, hmmm…” The doctor engaged the device. A pulsating purple beam shot out of it toward Jenn. His grin turned into a frown as he watch the dials and meters on the device bounce around wildly. Ifer sighed, seeing that her trick was working. The ray was bouncing back off the mirror, feeding back anomalous readings. Visibly frustrated, Dr. Mathmodicus shut the device off and put it back on another table. “It seems that even while you sleep, you have defenses I had not counted on. So be it. We’ll do this the old fashioned way.” He stepped over to a small tray and picked up a knife. “You know, my mentor told me I was always his best student in the way of reading entrails.” Ifer screamed into Jenn’s mind, “Jenn wake up! Don’t let your lazy guts get opened up by this monster!” Seeing no reaction, she was left with little choice. Ifer jumped back into Jennifer. The teenager’s eyes shot open. Mustering all the energy she could, which wasn’t much, managed to burn through the strap on the only arm she had full control of and grabbed the doctors hand as it was about to slice into her. “What?” Mathmodicus exclaimed then chuckled, “So you’re finally awake. Good, I like a fighting spirit.” Jennifer cursed, “You’re not going to get away with this!” All the while Ifer was cursing at Jenn to wake up. As the doctor wrestled with the girl over the knife he chuckled, “You know Ms. Duality. You’re not nearly as powerful as I had thought.” Ripping the knife away from Jennifer’s grasp, he grinned evilly, “In fact you’re just as weak as a sorry little puppy.” Ifer felt it in the back of her mind like a wildfire. Jenn’s consciousness flared to life and rejoined her own. ‘Just in time,’ Ifer sighed, letting Jenn’s rage take over. “SORRY LITTLE PUPPY?!!!” Jennifer roared, black flames searing away the straps as she shouted. “Look who’s talking you weak excuse for a two bit, half wit villain!” W..What!” Dr. Mathmodicus screamed in shock and rage at the tone of Jennifer’s retort. “Why, I’m going to make you pay dearly for…” The doctors words cut off as Jenn flipped off the table and came up hands spread open sending a giant ball of vengeful lightning at the man. Crack! Boom! “Aaaargh,” The doctor was lifted up into the air by the blast and crashed against the brick wall, only his Hyper-Equational overcoat keeping him from burning to ash. “Not so big now are ya, b***h!” Jenn shouted as she vaulted over the table, sending another blast of vengeful lighting towards the doctor. The doctor dodged the blast as bricks exploded from the wall, “Strong words for just a student!” He roared, sending out a blast of Helio-Hexadecimal fractal energy. With luck, Jennifer’s good side had paid attention in math and knew the correct simplification equation. As the energy particles swarmed her, her own mega fabulous powers shielded her and she took no damage as the blast slipped around her and vaporized the table she had been strapped to before. “What!!!!” Mathmodicus gaped in momentary disbelief as Jennifer twirled and caught him in the shoulder with a round house. “Ergh,” the man cursed as he slammed up against another wall, leaving a dent in the plasterboard. Jennifer seized the moment and continued to rain punches and kicks in on the man, who struggled to regain his footing under the onslaught. “Get it through your thick Neanderthal mind, I rule this school and you’re going down!” The doctor roared at the insult and streams of Numerically-enriched Quantum Particles shot out from his hands. “I’ll not die by the hands of a two minded freak!” His attack was met mid way by
Jennifer’s blast of Annilation Inferno Flames. “It’s over Doctor! You’re finished Slime wad!” Jennifer shouted as she spun to the left and sent another blast into the ceiling above Mathmodicus. The doctor shot a glare upward as the roof began falling in upon him. “Nooo!” His screams echoed as hundreds of tons of brick and concrete slammed down, burying him. Jennifer quickly blasted through a side wall and into the morning air as the old wing of the school collapsed with a dusty Corrumph! In a blur of speed, she zipped in a wide arc around the implosion and landed unseen where all the morning school busses were parked, having unloaded the students. She walked up casually to some of the kids she knew and copied their shocked and amazed expressions as everyone watched the dust rise into the sky. Jennifer smiled as all the students were told to go home for the day. Later that morning, Jenn sat on her bed, Ifer sitting next to her. “I’m sorry I hit you.” Ifer said, looking down at the floor. “No. I shouldn’t have pulled the gun on you. That was not cool, even for me.” Jenn looked up at her other half. “I may be a complete uncontrollable minx at times, but if it wasn’t for you saving me today, I’d be dead. I’m the one who’s sorry.” Ifer let a smile come to her face, “So are we okay?” Jenn smiled back, “Yeah, we’re good.” Ifer let out a sigh of relief, “Okay.” Jenn and Ifer collapsed back into each other, and soon Jennifer was sleeping soundly on the bed, exhausted from such a difficult morning at school. © 2012 WolfwindFeatured Review
