This is a very very powerful poem... In the first stanza, it appears that you are saying, "There will always be problems, and you need to be aware of that, but in a friendship, or romance, there will always be good times to enjoy in between the bad ones." This really speaks to me... I'm not sure why, but it does.
The second stanza appears to be speaking of the impression that a good relationship will leave on you, "etched, timeless" makes me think that one will never forget these people this poem refers to, because of all the great memories...
The third stanza seems to sum up the first two, sticking both themes in a bowl together and mixing them up. Then the very last stanza, "a door, awaits" seems to be sticking those mixed ideas in an oven and pulling them out a crispy golden-brown pie... One and delicious.
Something like that. Great poem!

Shiny do those eyes become
when they lay upon their fated one
Never far from thought or deed
the souls embrace with glowing need
Finding a light with its beams so bright
knowing the heat be worth the fight
Little did we know how one simple yes begins
the adventure of a lifetime
filled with smiles, hugs and grins
