Silence

Silence

A Poem by Samantha
"

This is about surpassing your feelings and being who you want to be, despite what others may say. Listen to yourself.

"
I dare not say what should be said when nobody else is speaking.
I smile a little and understand what everybody is seeking.
They are fighting for acceptance in a world of no love
They are silencing themselves in foolish hopes of
being as one in a community so diverse
It's nearly a crime and seems as a curse
That golden words are so often left unsaid
A quiet grimace and a nod of the head
Why have we let our emotions run wild?
And why have we guiltily sat mute as a child?
It's time to stand up for what you believe
Define who you are and you will achieve
A better life.
