~Gizmo~

I wrote this poem when my cat, Gizmo, passed away. He died August 30, 2008. R.I.P. Gizmo <3

Gizmo is my best friend,

and I hope it will never end.

He was always by my side,

and in him I could confide.

With him I laugh,

with him I cry.

With his soft grey fur,

he bats his bright green eyes.

 

My feelings for Gizmo run very deep.

For it was he who was there

when I fell asleep.

He'd let me know when he wanted to play.

He'd paw at my leg,

and meow saying "hey!"

 

Gizmo is my life,

my heart and my soul.

I'll love him forever,

even till I grow old.

As the years go rolling by,

our bond will humbly grow.

I wish I didn't have to say "goodbye"...

How sad is that!.. death is a part of life... we're all heading there sometime... though it is hard to say that final goodbye.
