Precipitous

Precipitous

A Poem by Kaleidoscope State

I don't know how long I spent
Maybe a minute
Standing in the empty bathroom
Somehow I knew what this meant

I don't know how I knew
Standing there holding back the tears
Staring into the bathroom mirror
Wishing I could close my eyes and skip through

I don't know how I ended up there
Without my single friend
I guess there was not really a chance
I tried not to think of her happy with her knew friends, tried not to care

Here I was standing at the crossroad
I could not continue, my familiar path ended here
I wanted to be brave but I was terrified
I felt the tear again, wiping them away

I had to be strong
Even though the path scared me, the second one was even more terrifying
Are you sure, you can't go back after this
Yes
