Summertime Sadness or Birds Eating Fries

Summertime Sadness or Birds Eating Fries

A Poem by Charlie McEwan
"

For Brittany- I intended this to be funny but it brought memories from my childhood and ended up depressing.... Sorry about that!

"

Summertime sadness is seeing birds with tummies over full

Seagulls screeching, lining ocean walls

Children playing in the surf

Shrieking endlessly with grounded mirth

Adults grumbling and drinking beer

Swimming shore to shore and pier to pier

Mushy peas and fish and fries

Birds over eating till they die
