Final WordsA Poem by Wolfe Greytome
I gave you old words of mine,
Because words for you, I couldn't find. The words now come, But it's too late, Our time is done. But a promise once was made, And with these words, That promise is paid. To see in my heart, Just open your hand, You held it from the start. My love was strong - not bold. So, not fueled by wildfires, My passion seemed quite cold. Firmly stuck in my head, For nearly a year, 'Twas you I sought to wed. Now we sit, apart and battered, That dream deceased, That love shattered. Yet to go on as friends, Is better than the end. © 2011 Wolfe GreytomeReviews
