Turret of Faith: Chapter 3, Part 1

Turret of Faith: Chapter 3, Part 1

A Chapter by Wolfe Greytome

The smell of roasted rat and bread, along with the steady thunking of an arrow into wood, and the soft murmur of voices awakens the sleepy Ashete. Raising her head, she sees Wolfe in deep conversation with Cadeyrn. A bit of their conversation drifts over to Ashete - they seem to be discussing dreams. With a tremor of lingering contentment, Ashete speaks up, “I had a wonderful dream last night. Did you guys dream, too?”
“Aye, lass, dream we did. Hopeful dreams for us all in fact. Our young prince here was just telling me what his was about.”
“As I was saying, I dreamed of an old man. He said that to find faith‘s key, I would have to find the frightened giants that stand among crying greybeards,” Cadeyrn reveals. “I can‘t help but feel that ‘faith’s key’ somehow is a reference to the Turret of Faith, but I don‘t understand the rest of his message.”
“Well, while you two ponder the musings of a crazy dream, I am going back to that library. If anybody wants to join me, Wolfe knows the way,” Ashete announces as she stands and walks out of camp.
