An interesting piece- so many images come to mind- looking into the eyes of death rather than looking away- is this playing with death? At first I thought it was about someone piercingly looking into the poet's soul, the eyes looking away in fear and panick, but a strong voice raising up to back the one off- "do you wish to play with death?" A veiled warning not to intrude. Then my perspective changed reading it as death trying to look into the poet's soul- again the fear of confrontation- don't look death in the eye, there will be a cost of you challenge death. Then it was from the perspective of a thrill seeker- one who defies death- a warming to them not to provoke death, for there will be a cost. So many ways to read this, it makes it a provocative and interesting read. Thank you.
