Gone

I sat with my hands wrapped around him

I stared at him

So cold and lifeless

He was barely there

Hardly any life fueling his body

I wanted him to breath again

Kiss me again

Hold me close and never let me go

One guy in a white coat pulls on my arm

"No!"

He calls for a lady and she tries to move me

I won't let go

I won't leave!

They keep trying and pulling

They are speaking but I can't hear them

Someone speaks to them and next they are signing

Telling me that I have to leave

I shake my head

"No!"

Someone else grabs me and my arm

They finally get me to let go

They sit me in a chair outside the room

They close the doors

The lights go out

I cry and cry and cry

They rush out and shake their heads

I shoot up out of gray chair and they try to grab me

I rush into the room

I see the monitor flat

I see him lifeless

I fall onto my knees

The floor is as cold as he is

I try scream

He can't be gone

He can't 

They grab my arm and pull me out

They tell me they have tried

I refuse to believe them

They lead me in and let me tell him goodbye

Even though he is gone

I kiss his cheek and walk out

Empty....

Only his hand holding mine

He smiles

I love him

He will never leave me

I jump....

We will never leave each other...

A simple and easy read but nonetheless heart-rending. I like how the few number of words you use each line reflects what the narrator is feeling, a feeling of emptiness now that her love is gone. Nicely done!
