Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by Starr

You see, a dream is something that reminds you of your day or past, it could tell you hints about your future. A dream has no boundaries, no wires or fences, not a single lock or sign saying "Private". Dreams are endless and we can conquer whatever we want in them. We rule our dreams, we herd them into what we like, we button them up to keep them safe, we protect them like a baby. Dreams are dreams that mesmerize, that intrigue, that astonish; they show us what 'another world' is. The dream that is just that is none other than your very own imagination. It is a coat with a box under it, and in that box is a world of anything you could think of... these design your dreams... master pieces are formed. They are designed to be redesigned and rethought, they are fixed on hinges so that they may open and close, they are nailed....not screwed because they will change. Once those nails are rusty or just plain dull... dreams will be redesigned... re-imagined. Dreams are other worlds that save us from the pain and hurt of reality. They comfort us, sometimes we just can't tell it, sometimes we refuse to see that, sometimes we just don't believe in it. Many say they are asylums for the insane, others live in them... constantly. Some people think dreams are mindless games, some call them 'cleansers', some relate closely to them...others don't. Whoever you are, whatever you think, it is just you, live by your rules, nobody controls you....
