Behind the Mask of FireA Poem by Andrew Michael FigueroaA little something for the Day of Silence. Probably my best poem ever.
Those that hide behind the mask of fire
Show hatred to one another and love to the other. So when hatred is brought, They claim a crime has been commited against the Lord. "What is their crime, my children?" He asks the people. "They have grown to love each other Rather than to love the other." The people reply. And so, the punishment of eternal flames is brought. Since the first punishent, those people began to silence themselves In hope that we too, will be one day loved by all. © 2011 Andrew Michael FigueroaAuthor's Note
