Black Gold

Black Gold

A Poem by Woja
"

Oil spill

"
Misery spilled upon a coastline.
Careless mistakes for a deadline.

Oceans of blue turned to black gold
quickly spread; uncontrolled.

With one touch birds cannot fly.
Consume poison in an attempt to survive.

Sea otters coated in misfortune
succumb to the frigid waters of the ocean.

Whale rises to the surface but it's too late.
Lost his breath and suffocates.

Collecting black gold never learned from Midas.
Money has no meaning if we cant co-exist.

Irreparable damage to the circle of life.
Do not be blinded by dollar signs.

What a fantastic poem with a powerful message...quit destroying nature for dollars. I love it.
