Family treeA Poem by Woja
Fruit bore of a poisonous tree
Despite illusions, bittersweet The beauty easily withered Foundation jagged and splintered Fallen leaves quickly decay Naked trees provide no shade While on a broken, spiked branch born The fruit is spited by its thorn Easily flows to ripened fruit Stained by poison from its very root Passed on down to its own seed Secrets hidden in the family tree Though it falls hard does not go far Dictates your path it’s who you are Deeply rooted, instilled beliefs Create seedlings of insecurity From such a seed the same tree grows And to its fruit the same sap flows To grow in likeness is destiny Cut down the tree- don't plant the seed © 2011 Woja |
