Time

Time

A Poem by SunnyDaze

As another grain of sand falls into this bottomless pit of an hourglass we call time

We remember

The clock ticks louder and louder with each passing hour

Day

Month

Year

We fear

Time withers away much like our bodies slowly decaying into nothing but sand that will soon become another layer in the bottomless pit we call time

Composing nothing to this life but Carbon Dioxide and our hard times

Can we slow time?

Can we reverse it?

Return it?

Once you’re gone they spread your ashes among the ashes of the trees and the leaves

You’re reborn as if time has forgiven you

Is it true?

Is it you?

You look at this world through new eyes

Revitalized

Your bones no longer hurt

You’re no longer weary

But this feeling is rather eerie

You can hear the ticking

The clock starts counting down as it once did before but you ignore

Day

Month

Year

We fear

It’s a cycle that can never be recycled

Time is lost once it’s gone

Don’t waste it

Can’t race it

Just face it

Add another grain of sand into the bottomless pit

Be grateful, that’s it.
