Fear

Fear

A Poem by Tiny Drop

Fear is a powerful string
That breaks even though it's thin
Fear gnaws at people's heart
When everything seemingly becomes hard.

Smiles become scarce
Tears become harsh
Wrinkles becomes stark
Contrasts with death.

But death has always been around
Circling us like a wild hound
Threatening us with sharp claws
And its horrifying beastly howls.

I like to think of myself as strong
One who knows right from wrong
But faced with this cruel fear
I tremble and become terrifyingly weak.

Not for long though
For fear lives in the house below
And I am the master of my fate
No mere fear can my mind break.

So heed my words fellow writer
Let no fear become your lighter
For in the dark cold night that approaches
We cannot and will not become scared little cockroaches.
