Eden LostA Poem by NykoleIt's pretty obvious what it's about once you read it... Almost makes me feel bad, but I'll deal with the fallout when it hits.No two men could be more opposite, So why do I see him in your eyes? And you in his?
Beneath his black-haired, Brown-eyed face I see your golden blueness.
Superimposed over your Delicate lightness Is his strong, sturdy dark.
With you, I feel a trusted traitor. With him, a cherished secret. Why can't I choose?
You stayed by my side, Raised me out of the water That tried to swallow me whole.
He left me alone In my time of need. But he's here and fighting now.
Both kisses thrill me. Both embraces are comforting steel. Both hearts beat my name in a steady tattoo.
How I wish one of you would despise me At the cost of my joy If only it would allay your pain.
I want to make my home with you. My future glows inside of your eyes, A lifetime of waking up in your arms.
I want to burn the world to the ground with him. Funeral pyres and burning pillars As we crash into each other every night till the end of time itself.
So please, my Angel of Light, My Purity, my Salvation, My only hope
Hate me. Let the only feeling that accompanies my name Be pure, unadulterated loathing.
Let me set myself aflame As you move on to someone worthy of your love And I perish in the inferno that began when I took the apple of temptation. © 2009 NykoleAuthor's Note
