That Glorious Night

That Glorious Night

A Poem by Jonathan Torres

Stars shine bright on this fine evening

we’re dressed in black and white

with glitter bow ties

first our guests arrive

fabulous as ever

tis a night for celebrating

you ask for silence with a soft tone

you take my hand and announce that me and you shall be wed

applause happens and kisses erupt on the mouths of friends and family

you pull me out of the hectic crowd and kiss me gently

i smile and notice in the mirror i have lips stains on my cheeks

from your sweet lips comes those three words I’ve loved to hear since 1/5/14

i love you
