Fall from a Dream

Fall from a Dream

A Poem by Jonathan Torres

A stream of thoughts ruptures from my head

I try to seal my head shut, but it's impossible

"grab this idea"

"be this"

" be careful not to show the world who you are"

Far from the door of peace am I

And I fall from up high

Off my cloud in the sky

Fall in an instant

Down to the hard ground

I wake, alone

Stumble here and there

Thoughts from up high in my mind

"Where am I?" I say

Utter silence...

Nor the sound from a weakened door

Hold onto the tar colored wall

I hear a call from yonder end of this way

"could it be?" says I "is that day?"

In a second I get to the light

And it's bright

As I turn my head to look around

Nobody is in this room

One step forward I take

And i wish I didnt

Far from the white room I fall...

I awake in my bed

Sit up and look around

I lay my head back on the pillow

Shut my eyes and say

"at least I'll see another day"
