Your form and flow move deeply like a river calling for answers across its meadow banks.. Yes, some walk through life lost in the routine, whilst others find inspirations with every sunrise... every smile... every breath... May you be ever filled with that fire.
Yes... this is a sweet write! Important info too for any muse that happens by, always keep in mind... It's simply getting the chance... that counts. Well written Gabriela, nice flow of sentiments that go from wonder to stiring up the fire to inspired love. Very well expressed here! Thanks.
Really lovely flow and I think you ask an important question--when we stop finding inspiration--we stop feeling fully alive I think--so I am with Craig--in hoping that you are always filled with that fire---
Let me begin my review by saying this: It's not easy to get me interested in just any old poem with rhyme. I'm picky and evil and weasel-eyed when I critique rhyming poems, because I expect a lot from the writers who penned them. And you, Gabriela, did not disappoint.
First - awkwardness. Or the lack thereof, in the case of this poem. I'm a harsh judge of what sounds awkward and what sounds natural, what sounds like it belongs and what sounds like it was a poor attempt by the writer to just stuff something in there that maintained the rhyme scheme. You, Gabriela, clearly transcended the customary difficulties that come with fashioning every verse and stanza according to a certain rhyme scheme and whatnot - the readability and flow was just wonderful to be pulled along by.
Second - imagery, of which there is a wonderful abundance in this particular poem. Vague imagery, or imagery just the slightest bit reaching and whatnot - I'll stop reading halfway through if there are any of those in a poem simply because I'm a terrible person and a nitpicking scrounger. With Inspire Me, however, I found myself scrolling down the page without even thinking first, and I'll tell you why - I'm big on imagery. Tactile, organic, visual, this and that imagery - I love all of it. And the images you nestled into this piece both stay my interest and keep to the theme of the poem.
