November

November

A Poem by ❀ Gabriela ❀

The leaves all fall in earnest now,

A chill is in the air.

The wind sweeps through each scarlet bough;

It shakes the branches bare.

And fleeting daylight does precede

The dreary days ahead.

The golden autumn sunlight fades

To icy blue instead.

And though I am inclined to grieve

The loss of days so fair,

The best await, I do believe-

More still will have their share.

I’ll hasten on through winter’s freeze;

When earth seems cold and dead,

I’ll look towards shining memories

Of autumn gold, and scarlet red.
