Week 2

Week 2

A Chapter by ❀ Gabriela ❀

January 30, 2015

Today, I bought a biodegradable pack of gum. Well, not really. But I'm sure some bird or squirrel will be able to use it for their nest eventually.

February 3, 2015

Today, I collected four more plastic bottles, which means that my bag of bottles is full. It's all very exciting, really, but now it's raining outside so the environment will have to wait.

EDIT: It turns out that the environment cannot wait. As I was sitting down, a very formidable-looking palmetto bug (one that can only be described as "trophy sized") crawled out from one of my plastic bottles. To the recycling bin I go!

Today, I helped out the environment by picking some gum up off the ground. With my shoe. This may or may not have been intentional.

February 5, 2015

Today, I carefully collected and saved the water from my morning shower. In a flash of brilliant ingenuity, I decided to then use it to water my dorm-plants. That was this morning. It's 6 o'clock in the evening now. I can't be sure, but they seem to be a tad distressed...

February 6, 2015

Today, I saved energy by turning off all the lights in my dorm room, much to my roommate's dismay. I sat alone in the dark for quite some time, staring melodramatically into the distance and attempting to deeply contemplate the state of the environment. Then my eyes closed of their own volition, and I knew no more...

February 9, 2015

Today, I collected several more of those *wonderful* little plastic bottles. They're stacked up near the toilet this time, as after last week's episode my roommate and I have deemed it necessary to "quarantine" them.

EDIT: I've been watching the bottles for about an hour now, and so far there are no signs of movement. I may not actually be getting anything done, but they sure are fun to glare at.

February 10, 2015

Today, I after a deep and meaningful environmental discussion, I convinced my roommate to set her car to cruise control in order to save gas. We narrowly avoided crashing into a tree. I might be mistaken, but that seems a bit counterproductive...
