Shattered

Pain, sorrow, and depression fill my thoughts and heart. The ground around me is covered in bits and pieces of something that has been broken. Some pieces are bruised, some are scarred, and some are even charred. I pick up the peices one by one. I assemble the broken thing, piece by piece. The puzzle is easy to crack. The bits know where they go and how far back. They come together nicely, but one. One piece is not here. One is gone. I realize, but can not believe. This is my heart shattered before me. This is my heart but does not belong to me. All these years through and my heart still belongs to you.
