The Old Man Who Owned a Garden

The Old Man Who Owned a Garden

A Poem by Wisdoms Collector
"

My first Haiku.

"

I

"When sunshine reaches

My garden's sleepy flowers,

I breathe easily."

II

"I forgot my sons.

I will always remember

Me and my garden."

III

"I forgot my wife.

Once I hear the birds, my eyes

Don't shut till midnight."

IV

"My garden has no

Walls. I smile when I see my

Flowers sprout slowly."

V

"Green is the color

I know. Nobody touches

The flowers but me."

VI

"I give money to

The needy. My garden is

Always fresh and green."

VII

"I carve the wood by

Myself. I have never smelt

My own blood before."

VIII

"But when the wolves came

That night, I was way too weak

To try to stop them."

IX

"One of them had white

Teeth which reminded me of

My forgotten wife."

X

"The others had long

Fangs. My sons used to forget

To cut their nails too."

XI

"They ripped my flowers

Up with their teeth and fangs. I

Shook vigorously.”

XII

"Then they stopped and glared

At me for a long time. I

Went blank suddenly."

XIII

"It had been a long

Time since I had seen any

Green object since then."
