Hold on, My Friend

Hold on, My Friend

A Poem by Wisdoms Collector

I've always known you very wise and brave.

A free young man, and never someone's slave.

That glister in your eyes is strange to me

Your face is like a new and honest dawn

You wipe humiliation from your cheeks

And head to glory walking all alone

I say: the road to glory's very steep

You say: that's true once you give in to sleep

You take my hand and fill my heart with pride

I find myself with nothing else to hide
