Eyes of an Angel

Eyes of an Angel

A Poem by James R. Lawrence

Eyes of an Angel
(Lawrence)

Saw the eyes of an angel,
In the most unlikely place,
Bluest blue in teary eyes
On such an innocent face,
When I held you in my arms
And kissed your fragile hand,
It was then you took my heart
And I began to understand

Chorus:
You make the gray clouds go away
When you're in my day,
I'm not complete without you there,
I will always care for you.

Saw the wings of an angel,
Barefoot, watch you running free,
Chasing after swallowtails,
Watch you running back to me,
As I watch you reach the stars,
Making all your dreams come true,
Becoming more than I ever could,
I remember when I first saw you.

Chorus

Saw the smile of an angel,
Sharing all that life can be,
Telling me it's time to go,
'Sorry, but there's more to see.'

Chorus

An attribute of a fragile hand being able to hold another's loving heart, I pull this out! The closure is somewhat sad but beautiful.

I tell you what...when I read your poetry, it makes me feel good and sates my romantic side. Such heartfelt sentiments you place within each verse....and it flows so smoothly. I love this!
