Rain

Rain

A Poem by James R. Lawrence

RAIN

Raindrops on our kiss

magnifies our senses

pushing us together like Cupid's arrow,

an embrace, we both desired, was satisfied!

Was it the rain that made me kiss you?

if so, I am forever grateful!

for from that kiss in the rain

poured two hopeless romantics into one cup;

As I drink, I am overwhelmed--

happiness, friendship, love is consumed,

feelings are shared and welcomed,

a new beginning, which started in the heavens,

And forever yours, until you grow tired,

My plans will include you,

never a tear in the rain

if it is you I share it with!

the transition from actual rain into your relationship as rain is very graceful. i also like how you can take 2 meanings from 'never a tear in the rain.' this is a sweet poem. rain is so portentous, and oh the things it can do for a kiss...
