The root of it all

The root of it all

A Poem by Nicole

The root of all evil, she began to say
She held her head low, and looked away
Much easier for me to show you, than tell simple lies
When the root of all evil is there, within those very eyes
You look away, frightened, fear unguarded
The truth you realized, the moment it started
She offered a hand, to lead the way
You had a choice to be reasoned, run or stay
The voice that demands the knowledge of escape
Takes hold of her hand, and simply follows it's fate

I like the story in the poem. The root of evil. A very good topic for a poem. This would be a good lead for a story. I don't fate lead us to evil. I believe we fall upon the path and we decide our place and journey. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. Please send me read request. Your poetry is amazing.

interesting poem. I feel as if this person (a female) is a personification of "the root of all evil" and is leading someone to their fate or demise. just how I perceived it. I love that a lot. good job.

Thank you.
Its about the bad in people. We see it but some merely accept their fate.

now that has puzzled me, what might it stand for? Or is it a hidden message for someone else?
