Behind it all

Behind it all

A Poem by Nicole

I open the door to keep the world closed
I numb out the feelings, that nobody knows
Those of the faithless hearts, choose to love alone
They look behind the ones who helped them grow
All the sleepless hours of confusion and thought
Have me left, to wonder, burned, buried, and forgot
Even on all the simple days, people tend to look my way
Seeing me for all that I have forgotten
All the tears, the fallen stars, this life, I lay down to rot in
I look in the mirror and begin to think and judge
The eyes of a lost girl, who ran with the rough---
And learned takers never budge
The story that was left bitter, raw, and silent
Leaves the mind clear, conscience, and free of defiance
Everything you see with open eyes---
All the dreams, the memories, the reality of the truthful lies
Some would say on many days this would be a great end
From all the voices, mystery, and ideas of thoughts---
My clever friends
In this moment I choose to say hello to goodbye
Cause all though a story was told---
The strongest of words still tend to hide....

"The story that was left bitter, raw, and silent

I like the above lines. This is real emotion and thoughts. We do learn with age. Open the eyes wide and be careful what we say and do. I like the complete poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
