FlatLine Beauty

A Poem by FlatLineBeauty

Her glassy eyes shift to the familiar poison;
The poison that once stole all her will to live.

Maybe, she consumed so much, because of the sweet taste
Or possibly she knew the outcome from the start.

Her pick was always painfully slow and sweet
It never seemed to matter how painful or damaging.

In the end it was always by her choice
She always chose to die.

It was a thirst she could not quench
Something that can't be explained in a way for others to understand.

Searching through person after person
Allowing anyone to doctor her fragile heart.

Placing trust in false "physicians"
Slowed her beating heart.

Love was the narcotic
She used to self medicate.

The hole in her heart ran so deep
Where this was just enough to numb the pain.

It was enough to forget the void
Even if it was just for a little while.

Love the euthanasiast stopping her heart
All vitals creating the FlatLine Beauty.

A powerful display of of how thirsty true addiction in any form... Can leave us... That last line, though... Badass, hah... Poisoningly penned...

This is a painful and raw poem... the couplets drive home the pain like nails in a coffin. Love is the elusive drug for which all crave, which promises life and also death.

I hope I have read it right! Powerful stuff.
