Slave to Life

Slave to Life

A Poem by FlatLineBeauty
"

Thinking of incorporating this into one of my novels. Hope you enjoy the little piece

"
There was a deep heaviness in her chest
Blood starting to freeze in her veins
Her eyes glazed looking like glass
Nothing but a hollow, empty vessel

Breathing in to live, only caused her soul to burn
In an exhale she would close her eyes
Trying to release her essence
Every breath she took made her a slave

The shackles twisted and wrapped
Tightly around her heart they squeezed
Her heart made of glass shattered
Leaving pieces of herself in everything she once loved
