Alone in your Presence

Alone in your Presence

A Poem by FlatLineBeauty

It's dark

The bedside cold

You're right beside me

Lately it never seems like it

We never kiss the way we used to

A cold peck here and there

When was the last time your fingertips grazed my skin?

Constantly in the same room

Yet, I still feel alone

Treated like a ghost you can't see

I wonder if you made me a memory?

Head hung low

Silently

I go back to my shadows

The tears that sting my eyes stain my cheeks

My heart fills with cracks

But doesn't break

Finding it hard to move on

I lay on the cold ground

Waiting

For the pain to fade

Like a dose of medicine, it might not cure you right away but it helps you move on from the sickness. Alone in your presence is a really cool title.. and the void you feel the vacuum that pulls on your heart sucking out all these emotions and you're not the one with the control to stop it.. that's how this feels i love how your poems are able to make the readers feel the strong emotion.

The title for me spoke in volumes here. Such a horrible feeling this is.. You summed up the title nicely with your poem. Strikingly sad and I can relate.

Exactly. I'd rather have an actual love and bond. Xo Winter
Beautifully written... thank you for sharing :)

The precise feeling before the inevitable; the hints, the suspicion and wonder, the realization, the anticipation...all here.
Winter's insight remains...

Thank you

Heartbreaking because I know this feeling too well. I had this happen with my last ex who dared me for two weeks, took my v-card, then acted like I wasn't anything to him. He threw me out like trash and didnt bother to care. It's strange how some people can just change overnight for an odd reason and then nothing seems the same :/

Gloomy, yet defining in every way.

Love lost... loneliness and a poem. If you can write you can always gain a poem whatever the situation is... nice poem.

Thank you. Very true. Xo winter
Like a cold breeze, you feel it, but it's not what you want to feel. I think you've done a fantastic job here Winter. :)

Lol that's true or get a smaller bed. Although that gets lonely without cuddling
