A Poem by FlatLineBeauty

The tears still flow freely down my cheeks
I often wonder how it came to this
The feeling of excitement welling up inside me
Anytime I saw your name
I used to love the way you made me feel
For once I had felt loved
I could have sworn that I was almost alive
A feeling of dread quickly flooded over me
This time I pushed too far
Pushed you away into the arms of someone else
I hate thinking about it
Wondering if you tell her the same things you once told me
Do you kiss her the way you kissed me?
Everything has turned upside down
Seeing you only brings pain
I still love you
Care has never left
It's like you ripped out my heart
Turning it to dust
Why does this have to be so painful?
I hope you are happy
That she treats you right
I will sit here by my pile of ashes
Shifting the dust of what is left in my hands
Nothing will ever be the same again
An emotional emptiness fills my whole body
The pain is more than I can bare

The pain of ones heart turning to ashes by another. Emotional pain makes it hard to feel anything for someone else. Love this one. I can relate to it so much.

You are most welcome dear friend. I miss chatting with you to. xo
There is a void so deep it feels like it will never be filled again. Time can be a cursed thing but it can also be a healer. It's a very emotive poem.

Time is a double edged sword of a blessing and a curse. Thank you Icelandic. xo Winter
Very raw and beautiful write, out of true felt sorrow, this is a situation, many women can relate too...
You did really a good job, on expressing these feelings Winter, your art is heartfelt, a thing many can learn from... great piece...

Winter
Very welcome
This is so emotional Winter. Wanting the person but hiding it is the hardest part of loving. Sometimes the fear we got from the past experiences hinder us to open the door for others. But this is love- we would smile or laugh, and we would cry.

Regret is that feeling that makes the wound deeper. But sometimes, we don't understand that there is a perfect time for everything, including love. What if, it's not yet the right time? What if tomorrow it would be perfect for both of you? But then, who really knows?

I understand the voice in this piece. The last line makes it more emotional- "The pain is more than I can bare."

Keep going.

Yeah, it's right. If it's meant to be then it will be.
You're welcome.
You should never let anyone else control your feelings so strongly. take those emotions and focus them towards your own happiness. then go find someone that is more handsome and has more money.
don't worry about him, he was not the right one for you, and you deserve the happiness that you will find when your soul mate finds you. love the poem. Trace

Am sorry to hear about this if this poem's based on yer real life.

I hope you are happy
That she treats you right...

These lines're outstanding, it's expressed how truly you loved the guy coz, true love always wishes for his or her happiness for life as you did for him. Nice poem but it's an emotional one as well. Very heart breaking/Heartfelt poem. Hey, don't forget without pain there's not a value of love and when you'll learn this .. you'll learn how to be happy even in the sad memories of love ..

May god bless you ..
Your awesome.
