abandoned

abandoned

A Poem by Andy Batts
"

I wrote this a very longtime ago

"

You do not see

You do not hear

But here I am falling to my knees

Here I am falling to silences keen

You have ignored me so, You cannot possibly know

Even in our shared childhood you could not look me in the eyes

So of course you would never notice the change in their light

When a wicked smile filled my lips you thought it was me

But it is too dark now, they have become mine

I have become what I feared

Leave me be

I want to sleep

No

Wake me up

Make me see

Make me hear

Make me breath

Did you miss me?

Did you even see that I was gone?
