A Poem by White Raven

i hate

being

in the stage

where I need to remind myself

to be

okay.

because it's constant.

especially on days

like today.

when conversations

over afternoon coffee

bring you to mind

unexpectedly

unavoidably

1 year ago today

on repeat

behind closed eyes

salty cheeks

The Last Good Day.

when we exchanged pieces of ourselves

so carefully

because back then

you still cared about

not

breaking things

Is this even poetry? Do I manage to capture any emotion? And any other notes/comments you may have. Thanks.

love this...and the idea "you still cared about not breaking things"

two things, would spell out "okay"---and "because it's constant" needs the apostrophe...

but what a closer...

I'd say you did well with capturing emotion with this. It speaks of the inner insecurities with peoples minds. When we used to care so much about something, but now it's starting to break down.

We all think about our one last good day.
