1A Chapter by Rose
I blocked out the entire world as I sat in Flourish and Blotts, rereading my favorite "Muggle" book, The Princess Bride. It had belonged to my mother, and my dad had given it to me after her death. I had read it at least 20 times, it never got old for me. My dad had gone to Gringotts to get some money to purchase my supplies for Hogwarts. You know; books, robes, a wand...
I was completely immersed in the world of Buttercup and Westley when a flash of bleach blonde hair passed through my peripheral vision. Somebody sat down on the bookstore couch beside me, but thankfully as far away as two people would be on a couch. I ignored the stranger and continued reading about Inigo Montoya and the six fingered man. Somebody passed the couch, her arms full of books, only to be tripped by Blondie. I sat down my treasured book and got on the ground, helping the girl pick up her school books. "Thank you," she mouthed at me. "No problem," I mouthed back. She quickly grabbed her stack of books and hurried away. I sat back on the couch as two more people entered the bookstore, they looked rather unintelligible. I blocked out whatever the three people were saying, until they began talking about how "Mudbloods" and half-breeds shouldn't be allowed in the magical world. At that moment, I quickly shoved my hand out, pushing Blondie off the couch. He fell to the ground and looked at me, obviously in shock. "Who are you? What was that for? My father will hear about this." He sounded arrogant, annoying, and bossy. I would have replied, but I saw my dad standing outside the window, waiting for me. I quickly grabbed my book and hurried outside. I must admit I was a tad nervous. My wavy, dirty blonde hair framed my face as my sapphire blue eyes were fixed on the scarlet train on Platform 9 3/4. I had grown up hearing stories about Hogwartsm but now I was actually going. I hugged my dad, Remus Lupin, goodbye and got on the train to find a compartment. I found an empty one and settled in. I pulled out my book and began reading since I really had nothing better to do. I ended up rereading the same page over and over again until I was brought back to reality by someone knocking on the compartment door. I looked up to see a boy standing there. He had jet black hair and emerald green eyes under a pair of circular frames. something about him immediately seemed familiar, although I was unsure of what it could be. "Do you mind if I sit here?" He asked rather politely. "I d-don't mind," I offered a kind smile and a weak attempt to cover up my stutter. I had been born with a stutter, I couldn't control it.
