I wrote this awhile ago while trying to help myself through some problems.

Spreading your wings out wide,

Open your eyes,

Just give it one more try,

Before you fall to your demise, 

Don't let hope become a distance memory,

For love to never been seen,

Where faith becomes a washed up place,

Open your broken heart,

Start believing before you fall apart.

Don't lock it up to throw away the key,

Turning around and walking away,

As you'll end up going down a road,

You never wanted to see.

Break away,

From those rusted chains,

Don't let the darkness take over,

Let the hero inside survive.

I loved this poem! It really spoke to me, for instead of saying that you should just give up, you should soldier on. I really like the different types of figurative language you used as well, such as comparing a human to a bird. The only minor critique I have is the name, for it doesn't seem to fit with the poem.
(Also was this written by you or just found by you? I was a bit confused.)
