LONELY

LONELY

A Poem by Windy
"

Just feeling the way I do...

"

LONELY

It's hard being alone

it gets scary sometimes

with even the ring of a phone

Some days are so very long

but never as long as the nights,

they last forever when you are gone

I miss the sight of your face

the feel of your loving touch

you have no idea just how very much

There are times I talk to myself

just to hear some kind of noise

I wonder if that's bad for my health

Just wanted you to know

I realize you are lonely as well

& I understand why you had to go

Aww, the pain of loneliness...I've felt it for so long. The long nights you speak of I knew well . You speak what many feel now...or have felt once. We all talk to ourselves... (don't let anyone tell you different!) perfectly normal! Some sing. Some dance. Some yak on the phone. And on and on...to cope with the lonelies. Blast up the music and dance with whoever is around (the kids!) for the sheer joy of it. Just being there and feeling the happiness of being is so human as well. Take your mind off the dark solitary monster; Try on those other emotions. Draw happiness to yourself...LIVE!!!

Many people will be able to relate to this. I like how you write your poems, just telling it like it is. Simple to understand, which by no means does that make it a simple poem. You say so much in so few words and that is difficult to do. The first stanza didn't seem to flow as well as the others, but right now, I have no suggestion for improving it. Keep writing!

Very lonely thoughts indeed Windy. It always seems night time is worse and leaves
us wondering how and why we are in this situation. Well done!

Thank you for submitting this to my "Loneliness" contest!

beautiful sad poem...
"There are times I talk to myself
just to hear some kind of noise
I wonder if that's bad for my health" - I don't think so as i'm always talking to myself since the time i can remember! I suppose we all do that naturally... :)

You shortened it up and simplified it from the first version and came up with great results. You are slowly tightening up the screws of your craft. With every piece, another lesson learned. You have opened up the doorway to your heart and invited in your head. The words now dance to the rythme and blues of your hearts beat. Now displayed for all to see and enjoy.Keep up the great work my friend.

Peace

I think you painted quite a picture of just exactly how you feel. Wonderful job. Beautifully penned.

I wait to hear the ring of phone - the phone

I wonder whom you are talking about. I bet he misses you too. :) Good write but filled with angst.

I agree with Cowboy (and THAT doesn't happen often lol) that this is a truly heartwrenching write. Nights can seem so long when you feel like the only person in the world. I think the flow seems off only due to the third line of the fourth stanza - has more syllable beats than the last lines of the other stanzas. I don't think it detracts very much from the read though - nicely done and keep the faith hon.

*hugs*

Windy very heartbreaking but I can relate... how the nights seem to last forever and you feel like you won't see the morning light. Very well done my friend.
