I Don't Like Storms

I Don't Like Storms

A Poem by Windy
"

I really don't!

I Don't Like Storms!

I don't like the thunder

It makes me want to

hide down under the covers

I don't like the lightning

It's so bold and so bright

it keeps me awake and

gives me a fright

I don't like the rain

in such big drops, it falls

so hard it beats my garden

to a pulp

I don't like the wind

howling through the

trees it rattles my

nerves and shakes

my knees

I will admit nature seems

so clean and smells so

fresh.........

But I still don't like storms

just what comes after

Author's Note

Windy
It's been storming here for days off and on, and I truly don't like them, but since they are plauging (sp) me I figure I'd try to make them fun! LOL Please excuse grammer etc wasn't even on my mind.

I don't like storms either but I liked your poem. May I recommend pulling the curtains tightly closed and locking the door. I have a theory that if it can't get it in, it will go away. So, I never open the door and I am always safe. I apply this same theory during hurricane season. I pull the curtains and so far, the storms have taken neighbors' houses, etc, while the most it has done has been to take my trashcan lid. It may not be scientific but it works for me!

I really like this poem. It reminds me of when I was younger and I went to my grandma's house and there was a huge storm. Scared the heck outta me. lol.
Storms can be cool but..I'm sure having storms on and off isn't the best :(

Nice poem, I like the flow, great work!

Have a nice day!

I like it, the end seems a bit off, because the whole poem rhymes but the end doesn't. -Clara

Very good job. I love storms. They have mystical properties, but I see where you're coming from. Great piece.

The power of storms can indeed be a frightening thing. The noise and the echos of thunder and the rain pounding on roof tops. I like that you gave credit to the aftermath though. What comes after. The growing of gardens, and the fruits that will come of it during harvest time.

As everything is interconneced, then it is made clear through your words, that even fear has it's place with in the great circle of existance.

I figure your name "Windy" must be attached to you for some other reason then the storms then? :)

Sincerely
Ashley

Although I really enjoy a good thunderstorm I really thought you made excellent points as to why you wouldn't... a very creative piece.

Don't care much for storms, myself. Yet, behind every cloud, lies a rainbow . . .
I enjoy your imagery, very much . . .

Great write, Windy! Keep writing . . . always.
